Polymeric Ferrules :

Graphite/Polyimide Ferrules for GC (15%C)

Made in Australia by Chromalytic Technology
All Sizes, shapes and hole sizes . . even double-hole versions.
Custom sizes made to your specifications

Standard Sizes to fit Swagelok, Parker Hannifan fittings etc
    • for 1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 1/16" - hole sizes 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2mm and 1/16"ID
    • 1/8" - hole size
    • 1/4" - hole sizes
  • Double-hole 1/16 x 0.3mm;1/16 x 0.4mm; 1/16 x 0.5mmID
  • Chromalytic machines these from the optimum 15% graphite/polyimide material for GC. The "profile is machined to closely match that of the coressponding fitting.
The hole size needs to be a reasonably close fit to that of the column
    ( ie within +0.001 to +0.002" ie +0.025 to +0.05mm )

Features

  • Preferred for GC/MS asthey are less susceptible to diffusion of air.
  • Use to approx 350C max.
  • Very hard material and not very malleable and it tends to"dry out" at high temeperatures with a tendency to crack - may need re-tightening after temperature cycling.
  • Generally not reusable.
  • More expensive than grapohite due to machining and material costs.
  • Machining tolerances are far more critical compared to graphite and ferrule profile needs to be matched to the fitting for best performance.
  • Sizes and Prices - Attractive Discounts apply for large orders; OEMS/distributors : PLEASE ENQUIRE !
  • 1/16 x 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2mm and 1/16" ID A$30.00 per 10-pk
  • Also Double-Hole versions A$40.00 per 10pk

Graphite/Polyimide is very hard and will squash down max of
0.05mm (0.002"  )

Graphite will squash
0.25mm (0.010" easily)

Dimensions are for
Restek Columns
CHECK you column OD with a micrometer
IF in doubt !

Graphite/Polyimide - Do up finger-tight - then requires 1/2 turn with spanner . Feel is relatively progressive until max pressure with short spanners ( Go by feel until silica in ferrule doesn't slip )
Note : the silica is almost impossible to break inside the ferrule

NEW ! 2005 Graphite/Polyimide now in SHORT Version ( similar to Agilent short GFs )
Works perfectly in standard Swagelok 1/16" Nut - Price 25% less use eg Cat# SF0.4VG
