Pinnacle II PAH : Restek has developed the newest addition to the Pinnacle II HPLC product line, the Pinnacle II PAH column, specifically for the challenging analyses of  polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons.

  • The Pinnacle II PAH stationary phase is a specialized polymeric C18 bonding that uses unique shape selectivity to resolve to baseline all 16 PAHs listed in US EPA Method 610.
  • Lot-to-lot reproducibility of performance is excellent.
  • Every lot of Pinnacle II PAH columns is tested to ensure baseline resolution of the Method 610 PAHs, using a simple, linear water/acetonitrile mobile phase gradient.
  • Further, because Restek make Pinnacle II PAH columns using our own silica, they have greater control over both quality and cost.
  • Pinnacle II PAH columns provide the same selectivity as our original Pinnacle PAH columns, but at a lower manufacturing cost, and consequently, at a lower cost to you.
  • If you are analyzing PAHs, Pinnacle II PAH columns are the reliable, cost-effective columns you need.

  • Highly base-deactivated spherical silica particles manufactured by Restek Corp.
  • Monomeric C18  bonding. Hydrophobic C18 phase suitable for analyses of a wide range of  compounds, from acidic through slightly basic.
    Replaces Hypersil BDS C18
  • Pinnacle DB is more inert and more non-polar that either UltraAq or IBD ( UltraAq > IDB onn-polar

Physical Characteristics:

  • particle: 5um, spherical
  • end-cap:  yes - conventional alkyl base-deactivation
  • pore size: 140Ã…
  • pH: 2.5 - 7.5
  • carbon load: 11%
  • temperature  limit: 80°C
  • ideal for both acids and bases particularly pharmaceuticals

Ultra IBD
Improved polar embedded group deactivation

  • particle: 5µm, spherical
  • endcap:  yes - polar embedded base-deactivation
  • pore size: 100Ã…

Ultra Aqueous C18

Increased hydrophobicity compared to DB deactivated columns - polar end-capped

preferred for small polar molecules
- organic acids / bases

Ultra Aqueous C18 vs Ultra-IBD

Restek ADV 2002-4 p4-5
both are excellent for both acids/bases but selectivity is complementary UltraAq is more non-polar that IBD
